I was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal. A career in international banking took me to Switzerland and to France. While living in Paris, a metalsmithing class opened my eyes to a brand new world of creation and I changed my career to become a goldsmith. Training in Paris, at the BJOP (“Union Française de la Bijouterie, de la Joaillerie, de l’Orfèvrerie, des Pierres et des Perles”) I learned to create jewelry in the traditional European way.

While living in Los Angeles, CA I started and developed my jewelry business with the commitment of having each jewelry piece done by hand at my studio. Over the years, the collections have evolved to include recycled precious metals and custom cut gemstones. Most recently I moved to Charlottesville, VA where I opened my studio and jewelry atelier and developed a bespoke business and one of a kind pieces.

The inspiration for my designs arise from my cultural background and traveling experiences. The pieces are modern interpretations of details found in centuries old monuments and buildings that are transposed to smaller objects of wearable art. For me, the process of jewelry making is a meticulous one, where special details are embedded in the piece to tell the wearer their personal, intimate story.

The secret reward of working on special commissions with private clients is to know that my creations will be cherished and destined to be passed down to generations to come, while preserving ancient jewelry techniques of creating a handmade piece.
